Pakistani Colorectal and Gastric Cancer Microbiome

Colorectal cancer (CRC) and gastric cancer (GC) are significant contributors to global cancer morbidity and mortality. Although dysbiosis of gut microbiota has been linked with CRC and GC, however precise role of gut microbiota and its interaction with host environmental factors underexplored especially in developing countries like Pakistan. This study aimed to investigate the gut microbial and environmental signatures associated with CRC and GC in a socioeconomically disadvantaged Pakistani cohort, with a specific focus on identifying potential microbial markers linked to sporadic CRC.
