In the present study, using Illumina Novaseq, Oxford Nanopore and chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) sequencing technologies, we provide a de novo high-quality chromosome-scale genome sequence of the hawthorn fine cultivar (C. pinnatifida var. major). Based on the assembled genome, we conducted genome comparison between hawthorn and its related species and analyzed the genes responsible for the rich bioactive compounds in howthorn.
