资源简介:
A wide range of fish bacteria have the potential to cause diseases, making them one of the mostimportant concerns for the aquaculture sector. An aquaculture farm in Narok County, Kenyareported mass mortality of its reared fish with unknown aetiology. The fish farm stocks Niletilapia, catfish and ornamental fish. The objectives of this study were to characterize, establishmedian lethal dose (LD 50 ) and clinicopathology, and antibiotic susceptibility of Aeromonasisolate recovered from an aquaculture farm in Narok County, Kenya.Pond water was randomly collected from different points of fish ponds (n=10) in sterile universalbottles and transported to the bacteriology laboratory in department of Veterinary Pathology,Microbiology and Parasitology, University of Nairobi. Conventional culture, biochemical,Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF)tests and whole genome sequencing were done to identify the bacterial isolate.
