Occupying Isola San Pantaleo off of Western Sicily, Ancient Motya was a Phoenician colony that rose to become a major node for Punic commerce and defense. This island settlement thrived until it was sacked by Greek forces in 397 BC. Aerial photographs collected in 2017 were used to create an orthomosaic of the University of Palermo study area through structure from motion (SFM). Precise control points from RTK GPS enabled the generation of a microtopographic model of the ground surface and exposed archaeological features. This is a reduced resolution model for online display. Jason Herrmann and Paola Sconzo Supported by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung, project AZ 26/V/17 Condotta congiuntamente con il Servizio Beni Archeologici della Soprintendenza Regionale peri Beni Culturali e Ambientali di Trapani. Grazie speciale a Tiziana Genna. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
