资源简介:

Corn yield is influenced by the interplay of weather and soil characteristics at specific locations. This project aims to ceate county-level datasets comprising daily weather variables, static soil attributes, and yearly yield records. The weather data, spanning 2001–2023, was sourced from the Purdue Mesonet and the MRCC Cli-Mate repository, incorporating all available weather stations. Yield data was obtained from the USDA, and soil information was gathered from the SSURGO repository. All data were spatially aggregated to county-level averages to ensure uniformity.

To enhance data quality, records with over 60 consecutive days of missing weather observations for a given year-county pair were excluded. The remaining gaps, representing less than 4% of the data, were imputed using a spatiotemporal KNN approach, achieving an imputation accuracy of 70%.

These refined datasets offer valuable insights into the relationships between weather, soil, and yield, providing a robust foundation for yield modeling, geospatial analysis, and studies of weather-soil-yield dynamics.
