Three-dimensional coastal ocean circulation model on the flushing of Tampa Bay, August-December 2001

A high-resolution, three-dimensional coastal ocean circulation model is used to estimate the bulk residence time distributions for the entirety of Tampa Bay and for five of its sub-regions using an Eulerian passive tracer technique.With a resolution as high as 20 m, the model domain includes all of the important mass conveyances by the channels and inlets, plus the impediments to flow by bridge causeways and natural constrictions.

本研究利用高分辨率三维近海海洋环流模型，基于欧拉被动示踪技术，估算了坦帕湾全域及其五个子区域的总体驻留时间分布。该模型分辨率高达20米，其计算域涵盖了航道与入水口处所有关键的物质输运过程，同时纳入了桥梁堤道与天然窄段对水流的阻碍作用。
