Fuel models and canopy features in the Iberian Peninsula

This dataset is a modified version of the Pan-European Fuel Model Map. It has been updated to account for wildfire disturbances that occurred between 2018 and 2026 using wildfire perimeters from EFFIS. Post-fire fuel conditions were incorporated following the LANDFIRE protocol, with fuel model transitions based on burn severity estimates derived from Sentinel-2 imagery. The dataset was also revised to assign GR fuel models to rainfed croplands according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification. GR2 was assigned to rainfed croplands located in Mediterranean climates, whereas GR3 and GR4 were assigned to croplands in humid climates, reflecting differences in expected grass productivity and fuel characteristics.
