Dataset 4- Determining the abundance of different bird species in Woodlot and Grassland

This lab was done at Danby woodlot and Grassland located at York University. The class was divided into groups of 4 or 5. My group members are Jordan Deosamy, Mandy Huynh and Dylan Stoll. Before the lab began we laid a transect to 15m down on the ground. A member of the group walked for 1 minute from the beginning of the transect to the end using binoculars and looking up. Within that 1 minute the amount of birds that flew over the transet was counted and the specie of bird was determined. Both of them were recorded. The position the bird flew across the transect was also recorded in meters. The wind speed was then recorded. This was repeated 5 times on the grassland and the woodlot. The purpose of finding the distance from transect to bird and the specie of bird is to know the specie types of different birds and their abundance. The environment condition for the woodlot was cool while the grassland was sunny.
