Comparative Gamma and Neutron Shielding Performance of High-Entropy and Shape Memory Alloys: A Data-Driven Analysis

High-entropy alloys (HEAs) and shape memory alloys (SMAs) have attracted significant interest for nuclear, aerospace, and medical applications due to their structural robustness. But their radiation shielding performance has yet to be evaluated in a direct, head-to-head comparison. In this study, the gamma-ray and fast-neutron attenuation properties of 59 alloys (30 HEAs and 29 SMAs) were evaluated against five standard reference materials across photon energies ranging from 0.015 to 15 MeV and a (_^235)"U" Watt fission neutron spectrum.

高熵合金(High-entropy alloys, HEAs)与形状记忆合金(Shape Memory Alloys, SMAs)凭借优异的结构鲁棒性,在核工业、航空航天及医疗领域受到广泛关注。然而目前尚未有针对二者辐射屏蔽性能开展的直接同台对比研究。本研究针对59种合金(包含30种高熵合金与29种形状记忆合金),在光子能量范围0.015至15 MeV以及铀-235(²³⁵U)瓦特型裂变中子能谱的条件下,对其γ射线与快中子衰减特性进行了评估,并以5种标准参考材料作为对照基准。
