Kuhlenkötter1 1) Chair of Production Systems, Ruhr University Bochum, 44801 Bochum, Germany 2) Institute for Materials, Ruhr University Bochum, 44801 Bochum, Germany Contact information: * schmelter@lps.rub.de (for thermomechanical testing) * nicole.stoetzel@rub.de (for fractography) Background This dataset comprises fatigue-related raw data obtained from testing binary NiTi shape memory alloy wire actuators, which were prepared by two different manufacturers. These materials were investigated as part of a study on functional and structural fatigue to extend existing literature. (Bigeon & Morin, 1996; Jape et al., 2021; Karakoc et al., 2022; Lagoudas et al., 2009) The wires were cyclically thermally activated through direct current exposure and cooled under various constant mechanical preloads until fatigue failure occurred. The manufacturers are deliberately not specified and are referred to as “A” and “B” in this study. All experimental details and results will be made available in the near future. In this document, we provide only the data from the corresponding experiments for reuse and further analysis.
