Blue whale home range shapefiles from: Spatial and temporal occurrence of blue whales off the U.S. West Coast, with implications for management.

This data repository contains an Arc Package for Esri ArcGIS software with shapefiles of home ranges estimated for 53 blue whales (Balaenoptera musculus) tracked with Argos satellite tags off the U.S. West Coast between 1994 and 2008. Home ranges were calculated with an LSCV kernel density estimator for tracks at least 30 d in duration as documented in Irvine et al 2014 (see reference link). The raw tracking data that was used to produce these home ranges are deposited as a Movebank Repository (Mate et al. 2019; see second reference link).本数据集仓库包含适配Esri ArcGIS软件的Arc工具包，内含1994年至2008年间在美国西海岸外海通过Argos卫星标签追踪的53头蓝鲸（Balaenoptera musculus）所估算得到的家域（home range）的形状文件（shapefile）。本次研究的家域采用LSCV核密度估计器计算得到，计算对象为时长至少30天的追踪轨迹，相关方法详见Irvine等（2014）的研究文献（参见参考文献链接）。用于生成上述家域的原始追踪数据已存档至Movebank仓库（Mate等，2019；参见第二篇参考文献链接）。
