Provided is a decorative material that has a protruded tongue and a depressed groove and can ideally prevent dirt accumulation in a fit boundary (joint) between the tongue of one decorative material and the groove of another decorative material. The decorative material includes a polygonal substrate layer having a protruded tongue at least on its one side face and a depressed groove at least on one of the other side faces， the groove having a shape fittable to the tongue， the substrate layer having a distance of 2.0 mm or less from its upper face to an upper-side base of the tongue.
