Phagocyte-Associated Pathobionts in Crohn's Disease

This study evaluated lamina propria phagocyte gene expression and the associated microbiome in samples from Crohn's disease patients and controls. Gut mucosal biopsies were collected from the terminal ileum and ascending colon of Crohn's disease patients and non-IBD controls. Phagocytes were isolated from digested biopsies using magnetic column sorting for CD11b+ cells. RNA was extracted from these cells and sequenced.
