A Super-commentary on Îji’s Commentary, commonly called شرح الشرح, by Sa’d al-dîn Mas’ûd b. ‘Omar TAFTÂZÂNÎ (d. A.H. 792). See Ḥ. Kh. vi. 172, and Flügel, Hdss. Wien, iii. 194.

The greater part of this copy is written in a very cursive, but the concluding portion in a plainer, Nasta’liḳ character, of the ninth century. Revised and collated. Some notes. The MS. having become much injured at the beginning, it was carefully mended and the writing restored by a later owner, Ḳâḍi Khushḥâl, who also supplied the last fol., which had been lost. He speaks of this in the conclusion as follows:

ثم وقع الفراغ من تتمیمه بعد ما نلته ناقصة الآخر ذاهبة الاوائل من مکاید الزمان و عدم مبالاة الاخوان و قلة الاهتمام بامر الکتب و الکلام بکد الیمین و عرق الجبین فی حین وای حین عصمنا الله و المسلمین من هذا و ما فیه آمین و انا العبد الراقم خوش حال و تاریخ الفراغ یوم السبت وقت العصر بمنزل العسکر عند بیت اکبرشاهی و شهره شهر صفر و الماضی منه خمسة عشر و السنة الف و ثلثون و ارتحل فیها الراحلون رحمهم الله.

According to a note on the title-page, this MS. was presented to Khushḥâl in A.H. 1030. Bîj. Lib., A.H. 1054. Seal of Muḥammad ‘Âdil Shâh, and of other owners previous to Khushḥâl.
