THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHRASEOLOGY WITHIN CULTURAL LIFE

The evolution of phraseological units in English is examined in this work from a historical and cultural standpoint. In addition to being language expressions, phraseological units are cultural knowledge bearers that represent customs, social norms, and national mindsets. The study emphasizes how language and culture are inextricably linked, showing how social norms, rituals, and practices impact phraseological units' meaning. A linguocultural approach that takes into account both language structures and extralinguistic variables is necessary to comprehend these utterances. The results highlight the significance of cultural sensitivity in phraseology analysis and its function in maintaining collective cultural experience.本研究从历史与文化双重视角，考察英语熟语单位（phraseological units）的演化历程。熟语单位不仅是语言表达载体，更是文化知识的承载者，其内涵映射出特定族群的风俗习惯、社会规范与国民思维定式。本研究着重强调语言与文化之间密不可分的关联，揭示社会规范、仪式习俗与社会实践如何塑造熟语单位的语义内涵。若要透彻理解此类熟语单位，需采用兼顾语言结构与超语言变量的语言文化学研究路径。本研究结果凸显了文化敏感度在熟语学分析中的重要价值，以及熟语单位在维系集体文化经验层面的核心功能。
