A legend told by Elijah Parung. Hoiko (same as Hoiyo, a village chief, as in MO01-028 and 038) went fishing and saw a shadow on the side of the river and attempted to touch the shadow. He rested to drink water and drowned. The chief was found by the villagers and they attempted to carry him but couldn't. Paanaangah suggested that they use the wood of paruparu tree to carry him. Similar to MO01-038, story ends with how the names were given to the rivers in Mako and Pipiru.. Language as given:
伊利亚·帕伦(Elijah Parung)讲述的一则民间传说:霍伊科(Hoiko,与霍约Hoiyo同义,指代村落首领,参见MO01-028与MO01-038)外出捕鱼时,于河畔瞥见一道黑影,遂试图触碰该黑影。其后他休憩饮水时不慎溺亡。村民发现村长的遗体后,尝试将其抬回却未能成功。帕纳安加(Paanaangah)提议使用帕鲁帕鲁树(paruparu)的木料抬运遗体。与MO01-038类似,本传说最终以马科(Mako)与皮皮鲁(Pipiru)两地的河流命名由来收尾。所用语言说明如下:
