Historical Travel and Communications in Finland

This dataset contains a proof-of-concept GIS database of over 29,000 individual historical road polyline segments as a shapefile dataset, covering over 11,000 km2 in the western Finland from the city of Turku to northern parts of the province of Satakunta. These polylines capture the regional layout of the overland transport infrastructure of late nineteenth and early twentieth century Finland.本数据集为一款概念验证型地理信息系统（Geographic Information System, GIS）数据库，以形状文件（Shapefile）格式存储了共计29000余条独立的历史道路多线段要素。其覆盖范围位于芬兰西部，涵盖从图尔库市至萨塔昆塔省北部的区域，总面积超过11000平方千米。这些多线段要素完整呈现了19世纪末至20世纪初芬兰陆路交通基础设施的区域布局。
