FIELD: pulp and paper industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foamed fibrous sheets with crimped staple fibers. Method of producing a high-volume foamed substrate involves producing a water-based foam containing at least 1??% by weight of crimped synthetic fibers and at least 1??% by weight of binder fibers; formation of wet sheet from water-based foam; and drying wet sheet to produce foamed substrate. Substrate comprises water-based polymer foam containing at least 1??% by weight of crimped synthetic fiber and at least 1??% by weight of binder fiber， note here that said substrate does not contain super-absorbent material. Method of producing a high-volume foamed substrate involves preparing a water-based foam containing at least 2??% by weight of crimped binder fibers; formation of wet sheet from water-based foam; and drying wet sheet to produce foamed substrate， wherein foamed substrate does not contain superabsorbent material， and wherein the substrate has a dry density of 0.02??g/cm 3 to 0.1??g/cm3.EFFECT: using technologies and methods of present invention can improve properties of paper web， such as volume， extensibility， thickness and/or absorbing capacity without need to subject web to fast transfer process or creping process. 20 cl， 3 tbl， 20 ex， 15 dwg
