Improved sequence of K. pneumoniae strain Ecl8 obtained via hybrid assembly

We previously reported the genome sequence of Ecl8. Our published work, along with work from strain distributions to other labs, has demonstrated that it remains highly useful for targeted genetic manipulation and biological validation of antibiotic resistance and virulence phenotypes. The increased use of Ecl8 as a model organism demands a high-quality genome, this we have generated an improved, hybrid assembly.
