Annual monitor-level concentration data for PM2.5 and NO2 from the EPA Air Quality System (AQS), covering 2000–2023. Used to derive county-level air pollution exposure features for bridge deck deterioration modeling. Air pollution accelerates concrete deterioration through PM2.5 (fine particulate matter promoting carbonation and surface degradation) and NO2 (nitrogen dioxide contributing to acid deposition and rebar corrosion). The dataset is sourced from EPA AirData pre-generated files, consisting of 24 ZIP files (one per year), and is in the public domain. In usage, an ETL script filters PM2.5 and NO2 data, aggregates multiple monitors per county to county-level annual means, and outputs feature files. Note that not all counties have monitors, with higher coverage in urban areas; approximately 50-60% of bridge-county-years have PM2.5 data, and 30-40% have NO2 data.
