Mortality Associated with Neurocognitive Disorder and Functional Dependence in Older Adults: A 15-Year Follow-up Study in an Urban Area (DERIVA Study)

This study aimed to analyze mortality and its associated determinants—specifically NCD, functional dependence, comorbidity, and lifestyle—in an urban cohort of older adults followed for 15 years. A longitudinal observational study was conducted on 327 participants from the DERIVA cohort in Salamanca, Spain. Assessments included cognitive (MMSE, 7-Minute Screen [7MS]), functional (Barthel, Katz, Lawton-Brody Indixes), and clinical (Charlson Comorbidity Index, physical activity) variables.
