Determination of impacts of direct harvest of coral species in Northern Australia

This project aims to investigate the recovery rate of key species of Scleractinian corals over temporal scales. The project focuses on coral species in Northern Territory waters, looking at coral recruitment and changes over 2 years. A 4 month growth trial using priority coral species (for NT) was conducted looking at reproduction rates, and recruitment tiles were deployed at Money Shoal and Fish Reef to determine new coral recruit rates.

本项目旨在探究石珊瑚（Scleractinian corals）关键类群在不同时间尺度下的恢复率。本项目聚焦北领地海域的珊瑚类群，研究其珊瑚幼体补充情况及两年间的种群变化。针对北领地优先保护的珊瑚物种，本项目开展了为期4个月的生长试验以测定其繁殖速率；同时在莫尼浅滩（Money Shoal）与费什礁（Fish Reef）海域布设珊瑚补充基质板（recruitment tiles），以统计新生珊瑚幼体的定植补充率。
