Midwives’ views on enhancing vertical human immunodeficiecy virus (HIV) transmission care in Tshwane Hospital

The aim of this study was to explore and describe midwives’ perspectives of their involvement in optimising care for vertical transmission prevention among pregnant women living with HIV at a selected hospital in the Tshwane Municipality. A Qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive research design was followed in this study. The population comprised 15 midwives who provided care for pregnant women living with HIV in an academic hospital in the Tshwane Municipality. The participants were selected purposefully. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was conducted using a thematic analysis approach. Measures of trustworthiness were maintained throughout the study. Themes were derived from the data analysis.本研究旨在探索并描述茨瓦内市（Tshwane Municipality）某教学医院内，助产士参与优化人类免疫缺陷病毒（HIV）感染孕妇母婴垂直传播预防照护的实践视角。本研究采用质性、探索性与描述性研究设计。研究对象为该医院中为HIV感染孕妇提供照护的15名助产士，采用目的性抽样法选取。数据收集采用半结构化访谈方式，数据分析采用主题分析法。本研究全程落实研究可信度保障举措，所有研究主题均从数据分析过程中提炼得出。
