Functional genomics of multidrug resistant bacterial isolates from various parts of East Africa. Our project focuses on the genomics multidrug resistant bacterial isolates with genotypes that confer resistance to various standard drugs and their relevance to public health. We employ multiple omics technologies to define the possible mechanisms of drug resistance in order to establish potential targets for novel scaffolds and alternative drugs.
