资源简介:
Study inclusion required the study subjects to be a participant in the Black Women's Health Study or Southern Community Cohort Study. The case study participants were required to have an incident diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The control study participants were matched to case participants on age (5-year age groups), smoking status (never, former, current), timing of oral wash collection (± 12 months) and for the Southern Community Cohort Study only, sex, race, and community health center/mail enrollment.]]>
The Black Women's Health Study began in 1995 by mailing scannable questionnaires to subscribers of Essence magazine. The Black Women's Health Study enrolled 59,000 Black women aged 21 to 69 years at study baseline. Participants live throughout the U.S. and complete follow-up questionnaires every two years, either online or by mail. The Southern Community Cohort Study began between 2002 and 2009 by enrolling participants via in-person recruitment at 71 community health centers (86%) or through mailed questionnaires (14%). The Southern Community Cohort Study enrolled 55,362 Black American and 25,305 White American men and women aged 40 to 79 years at study baseline. Participants reside in a 12-state area in the southeastern U.S. and complete follow-up mailed questionnaires every 5-6 years. Both the Southern Community Cohort Study and the Black Women's Health Study are ongoing. ]]>
