Near-term forecast of Austrian greenhouse gas emissions for 2022 (Nowcast 2023).

The near-term forecast of greenhouse gas emissions was carried out using a simplified methodology and shows preliminary emissions for 2022 of around 72.6 million tonnes. Compared to 2021, this represents a decrease of 6.4% or 5.0 million CO2 equivalent. Emissions reported by emissions trading facilities were 7.2% lower in 2022, at 26.6 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. This is mainly due to declines in industry (including lower steel production) and the refinery. In the non-ETS sectors, around 45.9 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent were emitted in 2022. The decrease in emissions of around 5.9% compared to 2021 is mainly due to lower consumption of fuels (-4%), heating oil (-16%) and natural gas (-14%).本研究采用简化方法开展温室气体排放近期预测，结果显示2022年初步温室气体排放量约为7260万吨二氧化碳当量。相较于2021年，排放量下降6.4%，对应减排量约500万吨二氧化碳当量。碳排放交易设施上报的2022年排放量较2021年降低7.2%，共计2660万吨二氧化碳当量。该降幅主要源于工业领域（含钢铁产量下滑）与炼油行业的排放减少。在碳排放交易体系（Emissions Trading System，ETS）未覆盖的非ETS领域，2022年二氧化碳当量排放量约为4590万吨。该领域较2021年约5.9%的排放量降幅，主要源于燃料消费下降（降幅4%）、取暖用油（降幅16%）与天然气（降幅14%）的消耗量减少。
