Dedicated to King Fernando VII who ruled Spain between 1814 and 1833. It was promoted by Claudio Martinez de Pinillos, Count of Villanueva, and erected in me middle of the plaza de Armas (Arms Square) in 1834. It is the work of Spanish sculptor Antonio Solá. In 1955 it was removed from its original place to make way for the statue of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, me Founding Father. This object is part of Scan The World. Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free. Scan the World is an open source, community effort, if you have interesting items around you and would like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to find out how you can help.
