The present invention provides processes for catalytic deconstruction of biomass selected from the group consisting of agricultural residues， wood materials， municipal solid waste， and energy crops using a deconstruction catalyst and a solvent produced in a catalytic bioreforming reaction of water-soluble C2+O1+ oxygenated hydrocarbons in a liquid or vapor phase with H2 in the presence of a deoxygenation catalyst at a deoxygenation temperature greater than 180°C and deoxygenation pressure less than 2000 psi.
