Neisseria gonorrhoeae with high-level resistance to azithromycin in Barcelona

This study aims to characterize the first HL-AziR N. gonorroheae isolates detected in Spain . To this,whole-genome sequencing was used to identify the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance as well as to stablish the genomic epidemiology and the clonal relatedness of such isolates .
