Microbial community evolution in artificial selection experiments for chitinase activity

This project aimed to determine the parameters needed for optimal artificial selection of a microbial community for recalcitrant polymer degradation, using chitin as a case study. We then characterised the evolved community and looked at the changes in community structure during the artificial selection, as well as the community succession within an incubation period.
