Visual observations recorded during the Antarctic blue whale voyage to the Southern Ocean 2013

The ‘Logger’ data entry system was developed by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and is a flexible system to record information during a voyage. This system was the primary data entry system for the voyage and all events were recorded in Logger’s database.The logger access database contains all data collected throughout the Antarctic blue whale voyage related to:Observer effort (effort status, event, number of observers and locations, ship guide and data logger)Cetacean sightings and resightings (time, sighting number, sighting platform, estimate distance, binocular reticles, angle, species, sighting cue, heading, estimate of number of individuals, observer of sighting, behaviour, pod compaction, comments)Sonobuoy deployments (time, sonobuoy number, notes)Environmental observations (sightability, sea state, swell, weather, cloud cover, visibility, intensity, glare, ice, sea surface temperature)GPS data (time indexed NMEA feed)CTD deployments (time, notes)Biopsy events (time, success, sample number, reaction, attempts, dart recovery, notes)These observations detailing cetacean species observed and observer effort were collected during the Antarctic Blue Whale Voyage 2013. 本数据集分为两个访问数据库，每个库均包含以下数据表：

Biopsy（活检数据表）：GPS索引、UTC时间、采样成功率、样本编号、动物反应、采样尝试次数、飞镖回收情况、备注信息；
Comments（备注数据表）：带时间索引的备注信息，用于记录额外活动或观测内容；
CTD（温盐深仪）数据表：GPS索引、UTC时间、CTD编号、备注信息；
Effort（作业数据表）：作业状态、事件类型、观察者人数、观测平台、观察者标识、船舶向导、数据记录员、备注信息；
Environment（环境数据表）：能见度等级、海况、涌浪、天气状况、云量、能见度、光照强度、眩光情况、海冰情况、海冰类型、备注信息、海水表面温度（单位：摄氏度），代码定义详见Lookup表；
GPSData（GPS数据表）：带GPS时间索引的GPS位置信息，用于与NMEA表关联；
Heading（航向数据表）：GPS索引、UTC时间、真实航向；
NMEA（NMEA数据表）：每个GPS索引对应的UTC时间，与GPS数据表中的GPS位置信息关联；
Resighting（重识别数据表，单条目击事件的重识别详情）：UTC时间、观测平台、距离、双筒望远镜分划板、角度、物种、目击线索、动物真实航向、观察者标识、对应目击编号、备注信息、置信度；
Sighting（目击数据表）：索引、GPS索引（用于关联GPS时间与NMEA数据流）、GPS时间（用于关联GPS时间与NMEA数据流）、目击编号、UTC时间、观测平台、距离（单位：米）、真实角度、物种、目击线索、真实航向、个体数量预估（最低、最优、最高值）、幼鲸数量、观察者标识、行为特征、鲸群紧凑度、卫星标记编号、备注信息；
Sonobuoy（声呐浮标数据表）：事件索引、GPS索引（用于关联GPS时间与NMEA数据流）、声呐浮标编号、备注信息、UTC日期与时间。
