PROMICE-2022 Ice Mask Sentinel-2 RGB Mosaic (August 2022) Short description High-resolution Sentinel-2 RGB mosaics covering the ice margin of the Greenland Ice Sheet used to derive the PROMICE-2022 ice mask. The mosaics were compiled from Sentinel-2 imagery acquired in August 2022 and processed to Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF (COG) format with ZSTD compression for efficient access and reduced file size. The dataset is provided as nine regional mosaics to balance file size, spatial coverage, and usability. The nine directional tiles included are: SW, W, NW, NNW, NNE, NE, EN, ES, SE. The scripts used to create these mosaics are available at the PROMICE ice mask GitHub repository: https://github.com/GEUS-Glaciology-and-Climate/PROMICE-ice-mask. Usage notes The mosaics are provided as nine COG files to allow efficient streaming and subsetting without downloading the full dataset. They were used to manually delineate the PROMICE-2022 ice mask and are suitable for high-resolution visual interpretation and as a mask for Sentinel-2 based classification workflows.
