Report of the Archaeological Reconnaissance of the Proposed New Taxiway, Huntington Municipal Airport, Huntington, Indiana

The proposed project is the expansion of the existing Huntington Municipal Airport in Huntington, Indiana. The proposed expansion is to consist of the construction of a new taxiway approximately 3600' long, north of and parallel to the existing runway (see Maps 1 & 2). As a part of this study, the present author requested the archaeological laboratory of Ball State University to conduct an archaeological records review on the project area. No evidence of prehistoric occupation was found.

本拟建项目为印第安纳州亨廷顿市现有亨廷顿市政机场（Huntington Municipal Airport）的改扩建工程。本次改扩建内容包括在现有跑道北侧、与其平行方向新建一条长约3600英尺的滑行道（详见图1及图2）。作为本研究的组成部分，本文作者委托鲍尔州立大学（Ball State University）考古实验室对项目区域开展考古记录审查工作，经排查未发现史前人类活动遗存的相关证据。
