Gonadal transcriptome analysis of genes related to fertility in autotriploid Carassius auratus

Fertility is believed to play an important role in fish breeding, where higher number of genes are involved. The hybrid autotriploid Carassius auratus (3nRR) is generated from Carassius auratus red var. (RCC) and autotetraploid Carassius auratus (4nRR), of which the female hybrids can produce mature eggs, while the male hybrids cannot. However, the genetic control of fertility in 3nRR are still limited. The objective of our study was therefore to screen for fertility-associated new candidate genes.
