Shotgun metagenomics of water and sediments from two artificial lakes in the Gauteng Province of South Africa

We analysed bacterial communities in two polluted artificial lakes in Gauteng, South Africa. From our study, we've constructed 169 metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs), with many potentially representing novel species. This data provides a glimpse into the microbial diversity of these lakes, offering insights for improved environmental management.
