Genomics of forensic importance insects in the neotropical region

This project aims to generate genomes for forensically important insects occurring in the neotropical region, such as flies belonging to Calliphoridae, Sarcophagidae, Muscidae and Fannidae, Coleoptera and allied insects in order to understand the evolutionary patterns in these groups from a population and phylogeny approach; and also to identify potential regions useful for DNA barcoding and DNA based identification
