Vaginal microbial signature for preterm birth

Conflicting results in recent years have raised doubt about whether maternal vaginal microbiota contributes to the pathophysiology of preterm birth (PTB). This study compared vaginal microbiota diversity through pregnancy in two cohorts at low and high risk for PTB to elucidate associations between PTB and vaginal microbiota composition.
