Transcriptome of caecal tissue of layer chicks. chicken gut metagenome

Salmonella free chicks were reared for 7 days and divided into two treatment groups. On day 8 of hatch, one group was challenged with Salmonella Typhimurium and one left as negative control. Cecal tissue samples were collected on day 3, 5 and 7 post-challenge and processed for total RNA extraction. The RNA samples were processed for gene expression analysis using RNA-Seq. Data were analysed to understand the effect of Salmonella challenge on the regulation of cecal immune system of chicks.
