This dataset contains daily woreda (district) level summaries of remotely sensed environmental indices for all of Ethiopia from 2002-2021.The indices characterize precipitation, land surface temperature, and spectral indices including the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), enhanced vegetation index (EVI), soil-adjusted vegetation index (SAVI), and normalized difference water index (NDWI). These data have a pixel size of 0.1 degrees and are available at half-hour invervals. They were aggregated to generate daily precipitation totals.<br>Land surface temperature data were obtained from the NASA MOderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Terra 8-day product (MOD11A2). These data have a pixel size of 1000 m and are summarized as 8-day composites. They were disaggregated to daily values and used to summarize day, night, and mean of day and night temperatures.<br>Spectral indices were calculated using the NASA MODIS Nadir BRDF-Adjusted Reflectance (NBAR) product. These data have a pixel size of 500 m and are summarized daily using a 16-day moving window composite. They were used to calculate the following indices as functions of the MODIS spectral bands.<br>NDVI = (B2 - B1)/(B2 + B1)<br>SAVI = (1.5 * (B2 - B1)) / (B2 + B1 + 0.5)<br>EVI = (2.5 * (B2 - B1)) / (B2 + 6 * B1 - 7.5 * B3 + 1)<br>NDWI5 = (B2 - B5) / (B2 + B5)<br>NDWI6 = (B2 - B6) / (B2 + B6)<br><br><br><br><br>
