Bacterial community composition of surface residual tarballs in Galveston and Mustang Islands following the Texas City "Y' spill

Tarballs were collected from Mustang and Galveston Island following the 2014 Texas City "Y" spill. This dataset reports bacterial abundance for tarballs and corresponding sand samples.
