The Diptera collection (ED) of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (MNHN - Paris)

This dataset is the databased part of the Diptera from the entomological collections of the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (Paris). The Diptera collection of MNHN is divided into a general collection, classified into families, and separate nominal collections. The heart of the collection is composed of two historical nominal collections: Meigen and Macquart, both dating from the nineteenth century; they contain about 5,000 holotypes. In total the collection contains 2.5 million specimens, 8000 holotypes and about 30,000 species or 20% of the described Diptera. All biogeographic regions are represented.

本数据集为巴黎法国国家自然历史博物馆（Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle）昆虫馆藏中双翅目（Diptera）标本的数据库化部分。该馆的双翅目馆藏分为按科分类的通用馆藏与独立的模式标本馆藏。馆藏核心由两件19世纪的历史性模式标本馆藏——梅根馆藏与马克夸特馆藏构成，二者共计藏有约5000件正模标本。该馆藏总计拥有250万件标本、8000件正模标本，涵盖约3万个物种，占已描述双翅目物种总数的20%。其覆盖所有生物地理区系。
