Fire Activity in South Asia
收藏资源简介:
The Fire Product: Fire Activity in South Asia was part of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme Data and Information System (IGBP-DIS) Regional Satellite Fire Data Compilation CD-ROM. The Asian fire product is intended for use in applications studying phenomena at a regional scale. It offers a consistent product in that the same detection algorithm is used throughout. The raster product is produced with the atmospheric science community in mind as it is at a scale which is consistent with a number of general circulation models. It should also be consistent with studies of regional scale processes and should allow an overview of the burning situation for each week. The daily product maintains the full 1 km resolution of the original data, therefore favouring ecosystem studies where the localisation of individual fire events is important. Users can extract information tailored to their own requirements. Two product types are produced: - Binary images giving the number of fires detected in a 0.25 x 0.25 degree grid cell for a seven day period. Associated is an ASCII file that gives, for each seven day period, the maximum of fires detected in a pixel as well as the total number of fires detected in that period, and - ASCII tables giving the latitude and longitude positions in a plate-carr e projection for each fire detected in the original 1 km data, per day. The file size varies, depending on the number of fires detected. Typical file sizes are between 6 and 32 kbytes. See also: "http://www.gvm.sai.jrc.it/"
