Pheidian Mug

This black-glazed one handled cup is decorated with impressions of Gorgons and the slain Medusa. It is of a type found in the workshop at Olympia in which the celebrated 15th century BC sculptor, Pheidias, made the colossal cult0statue for Zeus' temple.这件黑釉单柄杯装饰有戈耳工（Gorgons）与被斩杀的美杜莎（Medusa）的模印纹饰。其形制源自奥林匹亚遗址工坊，公元前15世纪的著名雕塑家菲迪亚斯（Pheidias）正是在此为宙斯神庙创作了巨型祭祀雕像。
