P.violaceum developmental RNAseq

Polysphondylium violaceum social amoebas are members of Dictyostelia. Upon starvation, the amoebas aggregate to form fruiting bodies with spores supported by stalk cells. After growth we developed amoebas on non-nutrient agar and harvested cells and multicellular structures at 0, 4, 16, 20 and 24 hours for RNA isolation and cDNA library preparation. 75-bp paired-end reads were sequenced with Illumina NextSeq 500 at the Tayside Centre for Genomic Analysis (https://tcga.org.uk) in two independent runs. The reads were mapped to the P. violaceum genome (Bioproject PRJNA45881) and expression data in transcripts per million were calculated.
