资源简介:
Aptinothrips rufus raw sequence reads for genome assembly.Plant adaptation to different altitudes may impact herbivorous insect evolutionary dynamics. The variable composition of herbivore guilds at different altitudes has been shown to drive differential evolution of plant defense traits, but it remains unknown whether plant adaptation to different altitudes may also impact herbivorous insect evolutionary dynamics.Using experimental evolution, we compare the evolutionary dynamics of six asexual grassthrips clones on reciprocally transplanted plants from high and low elevation for three different poacea plant species. The effect of local conditions depends on plant species (significant results only for D. glomerata).Thrips have a higher reproductive success on high elevation genotypes of D. glomerata, meaning that adaptation of this plant to different altitudes imposes different selection pressures on insects.Genotyping (340 SNPs markers) of thrips from this experiment is used to calculate the clonal frequencies in each treatment. With the completed dataset, we'll ask further (i) if plant adaptation to different altitudes has an impact on thrips evolutionary dynamics, (ii) if host plant species or specific treatment selects for different clones, (iii) if defenses of specific plant species/genotypes (High or Low) are different.
