Data and Code for: Framing Sport Psychology Services and Mental Health Help-Seeking Intentions Among Chinese DanceSport Students: A Randomized Vignette Experiment

This dataset contains the de-identified data and analysis code for the study “Framing Sport Psychology Services and Mental Health Help-Seeking Intentions Among Chinese DanceSport Students: A Randomized Vignette Experiment.” The study used a two-group between-subjects vignette experiment embedded in an online survey. DanceSport students from nine universities in Shanghai, China, were randomly assigned to read a description of a sport psychology service framed either as performance enhancement or as mental health support. Data were collected from April to July 2026. Of the 812 participants who completed the survey, 636 were retained for analysis after the pre-specified exclusion rules were applied. Outcomes include help-seeking intentions for a psychological distress scenario and a performance problem scenario, anticipated stigma, trait help-seeking stigma, service credibility, a manipulation check, and a behavioral measure (clicking a link to the university counseling center page). Paper_tables_and_figures.xlsx: data underlying all tables and figures in the manuscript. reproduce_tables_and_figures.R: R script that reproduces all tables and figures reported in the manuscript. How to reproduce:Requires R (https://www.r-project.org); RStudio is optional. Required packages are listed at the top of the script. Put all three files in the same folder. Open reproduce_tables_and_figures.R, set the working directory to that folder, and install any missing packages. Run the script.
