Pan comforting Psyche

This marble sculpture shows Psyche being comforted by Pan, the god of the wild, shepherds and nature. Psyche is despairing because she has lost the love of Eros, and is considering giving up on life. She is shown here with wings, as the half-man half-goat faun is talking her out of the sorrow.这件大理石雕塑描绘了普绪克（Psyche）正接受潘神（Pan）的抚慰——潘神为荒野、牧群与自然之神。普绪克因失去厄洛斯（Eros）的爱意而深陷绝望，甚至萌生了放弃生命的念头。画面中的她生有双翼，此刻这位半人半羊的农牧神（faun）正劝解她走出悲恸。
