In this project, we designed a SUMO-specific bimolecular fluorescence complementation screen framework, namely biFC-SUMO, to systematically identify the SUMO interaction proteins and SUMO-modified proteins in human cells. This framework integrates high throughput sequencing as well as a customized bioinformatics analysis pipeline, enabling screen both sumoylation and SUMO-binding proteins in a batch manner.
