Long-term water diversion increased nutrient resources use efficiency and community stability of phytoplankton in subtropic lake
收藏资源简介:
Water diversion is commonly used in managing water resources globally, but it can significantly change lake ecosystems over time. In this study, we observed a subtropical lake over seven years and found that long-term water diversion increased the biomass and diversity of phytoplankton, particularly Cyanobacteria. These changes were linked to increased nitrogen and phosphorus levels in the water. Over time, the phytoplankton community became more stable and interconnected, improving the efficiency with which they used nutrients. However, careful management is needed to prevent potential harmful impacts, such as excessive algae growth. The table (.xlsx) and the Rcodes(functions for calculating the functional diversity and doing random forest modelling) were used to support our analysis.
