This dataset contains human elephant conflict data collected by authors of a paper published in PLosOne, titled "Predicting hotspots of human-elephant conflict to inform mitigation strategies in Xishuangbanna, southwest China".These data were collected in cooperation with the following four institutions: the Local Forest Administration, the Nature Reserves, Community Committees and the insurance company “Yunnan branch, China Pacific property insurance company”. The data includes information on the characteristic of the households affected by conflicts with Asian elephants, and number of affected events per household during year 2008 and 2012. 本数据集由发表于《公共科学图书馆·综合》（PLOS ONE）的一篇题为"预测中国西南部西双版纳地区人象冲突（human-elephant conflict）热点以制定缓解策略"的论文的作者所收集。本次数据采集工作得到了四家机构的协作支持，分别为地方林业主管部门、自然保护区管理机构、社区委员会，以及中国太平洋财产保险股份有限公司云南分公司。数据集涵盖受亚洲象（Asian elephants）冲突影响的农户特征信息，以及2008年至2012年间每户的冲突事件发生次数。如需了解数据收集与分析的更多细节，请参阅该已发表论文。
